J & L Supply Co. Ltd. Operates on the belief that
safety is a priority. Our goal is to provide quality
service and products to our customers while protecting
the health and safety of our workers, customers, public,
the environment and our operations. We are committed to
a continuously improving safety program.
Our goal is to provide a health and injury free
workplace for our employees. Our mission is to provide
service to our customers in a safe and efficient manner.
In order to accomplish these things, we will govern our
operations according to the Petroleum Industry Guiding
Principles revised in 2002.
Petroleum Industry Guiding Principles for Worker Safety
The Petroleum Industry Guiding Principles were
developed by industry associations in order to promote
the role of safety among member companies and act as a
minimum accepted standard for performance in the
petroleum industries.
We, as members of the petroleum industry, have a
responsibility to protect all workers engaged in its
activities from personal injury and health hazards. To
meet our responsibility we will operate under the
following guiding principles:
Responsibility
The operating company, when acting as prime
contractor, is responsible for coordination and general
supervision of all activities at the work site,
including activities carried out by contractors,
subcontractors, service companies and suppliers. While
all parties have a responsibility to promote worker
safety, the operating company recognizes its leadership
role in promoting worker health and safety on the basis
that it has the greatest power to influence work site
situations. It is the responsibility of workers and
employers to refuse to perform unsafe work practices.
Priority
Activities will be conducted on the basis that safety
of all personnel is of vital importance, whether those
personnel are employed by an operating company, a
contractor, a subcontractor, a service company or a
supplier.
Improvement
The operating company, in cooperation with service
companies within the industry, will promote methods and
practices that have potential for improving safety
performance.
Environmental Policy
J & L Supply Co. Ltd. holds environmental
protection in the highest regard. In order to maintain a
safe and healthy working environment far into the
future, we are committed to protecting the environment
by handling our material waste (i.e. scrap)
appropriately. We will comply with all applicable
government regulations, standards and legislation
pertaining to environmental protection. We will do our
best to provide and maintain a safe, healthy and
environmentally sound workplace by utilizing appropriate
procedures, training and equipment. We will ensure that
hazards to public health and damage to the environment
caused by our operations are minimized. We will properly
dispose of all chemical waste according to regulatory
criteria. We will also be receptive to community
concerns and take action to correct any problems. |
